Learn Tai Chi

Why Learn Tai Chi?

In addition to self-defense, Tai Chi can also be used for physical, spiritual, and mental wellness. Tai Chi movements help to improve physical structure, particularly in the spine and limbs. Its therapeutic nature also helps to improve participants' mental wellness, which is why Tai Chi is sometimes referred to as moving meditation.

Students repeatedly comment on their improved mental clarity, calmness and physical wellness after a class. You might not feel the physical aspects right away because you won’t break out in a sweat. Tai Chi even helps to reduce fat!  Tai Chi is proven to reduce the hormone, cortisol, which stores fat.  Tai Chi offers so many physical, health and mental benefits! For instance, the pressure of maintaining and distributing body weight through the legs as the you transition through movements, helps to improve limb strength, endurance, flexibility, muscle strength, and cardiovascular health. It also helps to decreases falls and improves balance, decrease pain and increases bone density.

As I stated earlier, Tai Chi is also a form of moving meditation which offers many mental and spiritual benefits as well. Tai Chi provides relaxation and stress management, decreases anxiety and depression, improves sleep quality and decreases blood pressure.  When you move through Tai Chi, you might feel connected to the life energy all around us, giving yourself renewed perspective and joy.
