Trinity Tai Chi Lesson 3: Of One Mind

Now may the God who gives endurance and who supplies encouragement grant that you be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus,

Romans 15:5 AMP

Many interpret this scripture to mean that we are to be accepting of all, to embrace diversity, to see beyond the faults and shortcoming of others. Paul was in fact telling the Christian Jews to embrace and allow the Gentiles to know about Christ just as the Jewish. During those times, this was a brash and outside of the box demand. The Jewish and Gentiles did not cross lines.

Of course, we struggle with these issues in today’s times as well. Acceptance. However, in my opinion, in this scripture means much more. It is not about “accepting” different cultures, skin colors or other differences. NO. It goes much deeper than that.

What Paul is saying is that we must come of ONE MIND. Our mind…although so much less than that of God’s, is in fact, a part of God that is within us. God’s mind created everything. He created with his infinite intelligence. He mind-ed…”Let there be light.” And there was.

It is with our mind, that we also create. God intended for us to create. To use the energy of our mind to think beyond our circumstances, to transcend......to create. But our mind is best used, when the energy raises and we join with another’s energy….with their mind. And then another, and another, and another.

It is possible, and has been proven in research studies, that a room full of “mindful” individuals can join their energy and their brainwaves become unified and coherent with each other. They become of ONE MIND. At which point, the energy in the room raises and individuals suddenly feel connected to a greater source. They feel whole. Complete. Connected to that universal, loving intelligence we know, as GOD.

It is in THAT place that we no longer even aware of differences! There are no differences. It is quite elementary to name differences (black, disabled, hispanic, short, fat, ….what?). If we are truly in a place of elevated energy, then we no longer even see it! Our minds join together as one energy and join with God.

THIS is what I believe Paul was saying to the Romans..or to all of us. Christ was full of this energy. Just touch him and you were healed. He had so much energy that he raised himself (with God’s power) from the dead!

We are supposed to join our minds together as one. When we pray for someone and are in a group and pray with sincerity, love (elevated emotion) and a common intention, we are joining our mind as one just as Paul said.

And this, dear friends, is what we do when we practice Tai Chi or Qigong or do our intention together. We are not only moving together…we are moving our energy together, and on occasion, we even join our minds together. We become one. With each other. With God. We become of ONE MIND.

Prayer

Join our hearts and mind

So we can become of One Mind.

Expand and strengthen our energy

To fully connect,

To effectively be present and elevated;

in love, intention and oneness.

Give us endurance and encouragement

To do your work as you have

Called us to do.

Amen
