Scripture:
“The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And the expanse [of heaven] is declaring the work of His hands.”
Psalms 19:1 AMP
——————
It is quite possible that this one sentence explains the entire universe and how God created and manages it. In other words, how it all works! It accurately describes the qualities smallest unit (that we know of); the atom, to the largest - the universe. It even describes the make up and inner workings of our own body.
This scripture is a proclamation of Yin/Yang, of “it is, it isn’t, it is,” of Heavy and Light; of Matter and Energy.
Let’s take a closer look at this scripture:
The “heavens” (or some translations it as “sky”) = that which we can see - so that which we can see is “telling of the GLORY of God.”
“Glory” in Hebrew is “Kavod.”
Kavod literally means “heavy!”
To me, heavy means “matter”, all that we can experience through our senses; all this things that are 3D and make up our tangible world. The creation. The sky. The ocean. The desk in front of us. Our physical bodies. The Yang.
And the second, contrasting sentence:
…”And the expanse that declares (demonstrates) the work of his hands.”
Expanse = space, emptiness that which we can not touch or experience through our normal awareness or senses. In this context it is the Yin.
It is through the expanse - His energy, that all things are created.
So this scripture - this one sentence, is telling us how it ALL works! Not only that all things come from God, but how. That God creates from the expanse (which is where His creative energy lies) and that His “work” is the glory (heavy matter) that we see and experience.
His matter is different than the matter which we create. In other words, the buildings we make, the automobiles, airplanes, etc. Those are our matter and creations made from his matter. But HIS matter is nature, our bodies, the creation! Perhaps that is why we feel so connected while out in nature.
Because we have Te (a piece of God inside us; Holy Spirit), we too, have the same qualities, the same possibilities:
The Glory of God (the matter) is our Body
And the expanse, that creative energy is our MIND.
This is what this scripture is telling us! If we understand and open ourselves to how God works, we can, since we are made in the likeness of Him, create Glory from expanse—(albeit on a much smaller scale than God.)
We can create our own “heavens,” our own reality, our own glory (through Him of course) by and through our Mind, our energy that God gave us. That means we can create our own reality. But we must do this through His expanse, the emptiness, the possibilities. Not from our own thoughts or ideas. We have to tune in to our Te, that part of God inside us. Then we can lay our desires in front of Him, but then we have to let go to the expanse.
Now let’s look at this scripture and expressing it through Tai Chi:
When we practice Tai Chi and divide heavy and light energy, we are expressing how God and his Universe work. We are physically manifesting the truth of God.
The heaviness we feel is the Glory of God! The lightness and Qi we feel is the expanse of God.
And when we connect to the Te within us, we are able to create with God. (That is what we do in intention group). And in that place, we are unlimited.
Now we understand. Everything. One sentence, tells us how it all works.
“The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And the expanse is declaring the work of His hands.”
In fact, now you can think of the words Tai Chi differently.
Tai = Glory
Chi = Expanse
So let’s join with God and create.
Prayer
Thank you for giving us this scripture
Of telling us how it all works!
Thank you for giving us Tai Chi
To experience and commune with You
In a unique, intimate way
That expresses both
Your GLORY
and your EXPANSE
Thank you for bringing us together
In Your work
Moving from us from matter to Your energy;
to Your expanse
How special this is!
Thank you, God.
Amen

It's a beautiful feeling to be intimately connected to our creator and also be endowed with his creative energy so we can be part of his creative process. Truly God has created us in his likeness. Qigong with its slow movement allows us to deeply experience the grounding and expansion of Divine energy! Thank you Susan for this beautiful reflection.
